I am the daughter of Gerald and Pam. They divorced many years before after an extremely abusive and addiction fueled marriage. My sister who had major mental health issues reconnected them years later after my fathers live in partner passed away and my mother had decided to separate and file divorce from my stepfather Blair. She lived in a delusional state of mind that they belonged together and should always have been together. My mother moved to NC to be with my father once more. After the abuse and alcohol addiction continued once again, My mother had decided she leaving him and going back to PA to be with my little brothers as they were still in high school. She slept in bed with him one last time. She had fallen asleep watching a movie in her computer. My sister and cousin heard him come out of the bedroom and check for everyone sleeping. There was a storm that night and the iron bench glider was pounding against the house all night long. My sister saw my father go back to his room. This was about 1-3 in the morning my sister described hearing a pound bang but assumed it was the storm and the iron glider outside. He laid his head against my sleeping mother and fired one shot through his left temple. the 9mm Glock that was registered to him killed them both. He took her life while she was asleep. She couldn’t fight for herself. She couldn’t run. She had no warning. My father had demons. Evil evil demons. Don’t tell them you’re leaving. Don’t go back one last time. Just go. Don’t say a word. There were no signs of suicidal thoughts from my father. He just did it. No notes, no wills, no life insurance. 1 funeral/cremation and a cremation. My sister kept half of my father and his other half was buried with his mother. My mother was given to my family. The gun, was destroyed by the sherrifs office as per our request. It will never take another life. I hope and pray they have found peace in the next life.
Way to make me cry before my first cup of coffee! So sorry to hear your story. You must be a writer.
