This case has me thinking about the often-overlooked relationships within the workplace. Hearing about Michaela Dionne Brewington's tragic passing and the connection to her work—as well as to the assailant, Menice Montell Smith—really makes you ponder how much we know or understand about our colleagues. It's deeply disturbing to realize that someone she might have interacted with regularly could turn violent in such a horrific manner. I can't even begin to imagine the shock and pain her family and friends must be feeling, realizing that a trusted colleague was capable of something so terrible. It brings up questions about workplace safety and how we can better protect individuals from potential threats. My thoughts are with Michaela's loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
