Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about how this case has impacted Rafat Abdelaziz's young son. It’s so incredibly sad that a child had to witness such a traumatic event, especially with it being someone so dear to him. I can’t even begin to imagine the terrifying confusion he must have felt at that moment, likely just sitting in the back seat thinking they were going to celebrate New Year's Eve like any other kid. It’s heartbreaking that his life will forever be marked by this awful experience. I hope there's a strong support system around him, helping to provide counseling and reassurance that he’s safe now. Does anyone know if there are any local organizations in Lumberton that assist children in coping with trauma? I wonder if there have been any community efforts to reach out to support the family, especially the little one, during this difficult time. I just really hope he’s surrounded by love and care as he navigates through the aftermath of this tragedy. If anyone has suggestions on how folks can help or get involved, please share. Keeping Rafat's family in our thoughts. Stay safe out there, everyone.

I came across this tragic case, and my heart goes out to Rafat Abdelaziz's family and especially his young son. I can't imagine the trauma of being in the car during such a terrifying event. It's deeply unsettling how quickly moments of joy—like New Year's Eve—can turn into nightmares due to the reckless actions of others. The bravery of Alexis Parker in that situation should be acknowledged, driving them to seek help while under incredible stress and confusion. It seems the suspects had a pattern of criminal behavior, which makes me wonder how our justice system might better prevent individuals with such records from escalating to violent crimes like this. Lumberton has seen too much of this violence. It’s crucial for the community to rally together for healing and to push for initiatives that could prevent future occurrences. For Rafat's son and others who’ve lost loved ones, I hope there’s eventual peace and justice.
