I was going through old newspaper archives and stumbled upon Richard Alexander's case. It's incredibly saddening how some families have to live with so many unanswered questions. Richard was only 33, and his life was taken away on Christmas Eve. As someone who's watched Detroit's crime issues over the years, it's truly disheartening to see how cases like his seem to fade away without closure. With the city's homicide rate from that period, it's no surprise many cases faced similar fates. The phrase "unsolved murder" has become too familiar, but each one is a tragic loss with real families behind them. I hope renewed efforts in cold cases can one day bring justice to victims like Richard and some peace to their loved ones. If anyone in the community remembers anything about that night, however small it may seem, please consider reaching out to law enforcement. Every bit helps. ?️

I was reading up on Richard Alexander's case and it just breaks my heart to see so little information available. It's such a struggle to know that his family is still waiting for answers almost a decade later. I’ve been following the ups and downs of Detroit’s crime rate during the early 2010s, and it really seemed like an uphill battle back then. So many cases like Richard's went cold because of limited resources and challenges in evidence collection. I'm curious if the Cold Case Unit has looked further into his case in recent years, or if there’s any way the community can help bring attention back to unsolved cases like his. It feels like every effort counts when it comes to keeping these cases alive and supporting the families left in the dark. Does anyone have insight into similar cases that might have been reopened or solved under similar circumstances? Keeping Richard's family in my thoughts, hoping for peace and justice someday.
