I'm still thinking about the trial of Shakur Deandre Stephenson and the emotional toll it must have taken on Lakiesha Sutton’s family and friends. It’s difficult to fathom the pain they endured, not only losing her in such a tragic way but also having to face the reality that the person responsible was someone they knew. The betrayal must have felt like a double blow. I can't help but wonder about the complexities this added to the grieving process. Often in these cases, we talk about justice being served, but it doesn't bring Lakiesha back. It's heartbreaking to see how one moment of violence rippled through an entire community, shattering lives. I hope her family is finding some solace and healing in the memories they have of her, knowing she was a beacon of kindness and courage. Sending all my thoughts to those who knew and loved Lakiesha.
