I was reading about the tragic events involving John Derrick Wright and couldn't help but feel for Emma Griffith in all of this. To survive such a violent encounter and then have the weight of everything that followed, including the loss of her husband in such a manner, must be immensely difficult. It's hard to imagine the complexity of emotions she must be dealing with, especially considering she was also familiar to Carolyn Jeffries. Emma being caught in the crossfire—literally and metaphorically—of this love triangle is just another layer to this heartbreaking situation. I hope she has a good support system around her and is getting the help she needs to heal. The human element in these stories often gets overshadowed by the sensational details, but the trauma for the survivors can last a lifetime. Thoughts and prayers go out to Emma and all the families impacted by these events.
