Has anyone here been following the cold case of Daquan Jefferson? It's so frustrating to see another young life taken with so little information available. I've been trying to wrap my head around how his case, like so many others in Detroit, remains unsolved. I read somewhere that his family had a beautiful service for him at Butler Funeral Home, and they must be feeling such an immense void without answers. It got me thinking about the Cold Case Unit and their Herculean task of solving these cases. With over two-thirds of those 8,000 murders still open, I can’t even imagine the backlog. But what can actually be done to encourage more witness cooperation? People might be scared to come forward, but it seems essential if any progress is to be made. If anyone has ideas or personal experiences related to witness involvement in Detroit, I'd love to hear your thoughts. This cycle of grief for Daquan’s family and countless others is just devastating, and I wish there was more we could do collectively to push for solutions. Sending strength to everyone affected by these senseless acts of violence.

Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the terrible case of Daquan Jefferson, and I just can’t shake this feeling of empathy for his loved ones who are stuck without answers. Reading about the sheer number of unsolved homicides in Detroit is overwhelming and honestly makes me think about the systemic issues contributing to this. I wonder if there’s any way the community can rally together to support families who are dealing with such tragedies? Maybe more neighborhood watch groups or even community forums where people can voice concerns and share information might make a difference. I know the Cold Case Unit is doing what they can, but it's just never enough when there's so much pain left hanging. What are everyone’s thoughts on community involvement or support groups that might help nudge these cases toward resolution?
