Hey everyone,
I’ve been reading through all the posts about the UNC Charlotte shooting, and something that really struck me is the profound impact it must have had on Reed Parlier's classmates who were in that classroom. Imagine being there during such a terrifying moment, knowing someone like Reed, who was described as kind and empathetic, was among those lost. It must be incredibly difficult for his friends who not only lost someone they cared about but also have to carry the traumatic memories of that day with them.
Has anyone heard about how the university is supporting the students who witnessed this tragic event? I really hope they’re getting the emotional support they need. No student should have to endure such horrors when they're just trying to learn and grow. It's a reminder of the rippling effects these acts of violence have—not just on victims and their families, but on entire communities.
Sending my thoughts to Reed’s family and friends. The pain of losing someone so young and promising is unimaginable.
Has anyone else been looking into the campus security protocols that were in place at UNC Charlotte during the time of the shooting? I've been thinking a lot about how these policies can affect response times and overall safety, especially in the wake of the horrible event that took Reed Parlier's life. It’s deeply distressing to consider what the students went through that day. Reed, described as so caring and kind, deserved to feel safe while pursuing his education. I'm trying to understand whether the university has since updated their measures and how we, as a community, can push for better safety standards. Would love to hear any insights or thoughts from anyone familiar with UNC Charlotte's current practices. It's crucial that we work towards preventing such tragic events from happening again.
