I've been thinking a lot about how deeply rooted Gavonna Craig was in the Shelby community. Winning a million dollars from the lottery back in 2016 must have been a big deal, yet it didn't stop his life from spiraling out of control. It’s baffling how someone’s fortunes can change so drastically and yet lead to such tragic outcomes. It's hard not to feel frustrated and sad for Joshua's family, knowing that Craig had the means to turn his life around. Instead, his choices led to the loss of a beloved father and son who seemed to truly prioritize his family and children. I hope this serves as a reminder of the potential impacts our decisions can have on countless lives. Thinking of Joshua’s loved ones and hoping they can find the strength to navigate this difficult time. Stay strong, Shelby community—we're with you.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the tragic end Joshua faced. I can't imagine what his family, especially his young children, are going through. What particularly struck me was the fact that despite everything, Joshua never reached for his weapon during the chaos. It really makes you think about his character — even in a heated and dangerous situation, he chose not to escalate it further. I've seen discussions around this part of the case, but I can't shake the feeling that sometimes being the bigger person in these moments comes at a terrible cost. It's heartbreaking that his decision to not use his weapon didn't protect him. I'm sending all my thoughts to his family, hoping they find justice and some semblance of peace with time. I'd love to hear others' thoughts on this aspect. How do we make sense of such tragedy when someone with so much promise and love for his family is taken too soon?
