It’s really hard to comprehend the sheer amount of unsolved cases in Detroit and how someone like Martwell Cook could be a part of this overwhelming statistic. It’s upsetting to see a city struggle with such persistent violence year after year. What stands out to me is the critical need for witness cooperation. If only more people felt safe enough to come forward, maybe the families of victims like Martwell could find some peace. How do we even begin to bridge that gap? I understand the fear witnesses might feel, but at the same time, no family should endure that kind of pain without answers. Seeing more resources going into solving these cold cases is promising, but it seems like a daunting task when you realize how many families are still waiting for closure. Anyone else here think community trust-building is key, and what practical steps could be taken to make that happen?
