It was so moving to see the community rally together after Eric Mabry's tragic death. I wasn't close to him, but from what I've read and heard from people who knew him, Eric was seen as a figure of potential change, even if he was caught up in some difficult circumstances. His story makes me think about how many young lives are at a crossroads, caught between the realities of their environment and the potential for something greater. The creation of The Safe Haven Foundation in his name really speaks volumes about the impact he had on those around him. I hope more communities can follow this example and come together to provide support and opportunities for their youth, showing there can be a path away from violence. It's uplifting to see how his memory is inspiring real hope and positive action.
