Has anyone else been following the Malik Shepherd case and feel for his mom, Imika Barnes? I can't imagine the pain she's enduring, not just losing her son but also knowing that he was on the brink of such big life changes, including becoming a father. The bravery she has shown through all of this is inspiring. I admire how she’s been holding onto the conviction as a form of justice for Malik, even when no outcome could ever truly make up for such a loss. It’s heartbreaking to think about all the milestones Malik will never get to experience and the daughter who’ll grow up without her dad. This case remains a stark reminder of the senseless violence that robs communities of their bright young futures.
