I've been trying to make sense of how something so tragic could happen to someone as vibrant as Jeremy Whitted. I've been reading up on his role as an advocate for LGBT rights, and it's clear he made a lasting impact on many lives. It's devastating to think about how much more he could have done had his life not been cut short. I keep coming back to why there wasn't more security or possibly intervention before Prentice Bess managed to return with a weapon. Does anyone else have thoughts on the protocols at the Days Inn or what might have been in place at the time? It just seems like there were so many moments leading up to that terrible act where things could have gone differently. And to all of Jeremy's loved ones, my heart goes out to you. Your stories about his life and achievements are so powerful. Let's keep his memory alive by continuing the work he was so passionate about.
