I’ve been looking into Antoine Sharpley’s case and am so struck by the bigger picture in Detroit. It’s incredibly frustrating to see how many families are in a similar heart-wrenching situation, waiting for any kind of resolution. I can only imagine how helpless and painful it must feel for Antoine’s family, knowing that answers might be out there but are just out of reach. I've read about how the Detroit Police Department has made some progress with their cold case initiatives, but it seems like a long road ahead. The lack of witness cooperation and resources is a huge hurdle. For those who are familiar with Detroit – what more can be done to foster trust with community members so they feel safe coming forward? It seems like any small tip could potentially make a huge difference for families like Antoine’s.
