I’ve been following Loren “Jamie” Salis’ case since it happened, and something that’s been puzzling to me is the condition in which they found his dive light and spear. Was there any indication of struggle or abnormality with those items? It just seems odd that they were found submerged without any other trace of him. Given the favorable weather and water conditions, I wonder if anyone has theories on how just those items ended up being left behind. Could it suggest a sudden event that made him drop them quickly? It’s frustrating that despite their search efforts, there's been no further info. What’s everyone’s take on this?
Anyone else find it odd how Loren "Jamie" Salis hadn't been spearfishing for over a decade, and then just decided to go on a night dive? I mean, diving at night after such a long break seems pretty risky, especially off a place like North Kohala. I’m curious if anything out of the ordinary was happening in his life at the time that might have prompted him to try it again. Did he just pick it up on a whim, or was there something specific he was hoping to find out there? I can't help but feel like there’s more to why he chose that night and those particular waters. If anyone here knows if he’d recently been meeting people, reading books about diving, or anything like that, it would really help to understand why he took such a leap after all those years.
