Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the Marcus Okoye Withers case and how tough it must be for his family and friends not to have answers even after all this time. I came across an article that mentioned a neighborhood vigil held a couple weeks after the incident and it struck me how Marcus seemed to have been really cherished by his community. From what I read, it sounds like the turnout was quite large, and many shared memories and spoke about what a joyful and kind person he was. It just shows how one life can touch so many others. It’s a solemn reminder of how deeply violence affects not just the immediate family but broad swathes of a community. Does anyone know if there have been community efforts or fundraisers since that vigil to keep his memory alive and perhaps bring more attention to the case? I think those efforts can sometimes help the authorities piece things together.
