I’ve been following the tragic events of the Juneteenth block party on Beatties Ford Road, and my heart goes out to the families who lost their loved ones, including Christopher Gleaton. It's particularly disheartening to hear there were more than 100 bullets fired, yet no one has come forward with information. I understand how frightening it must be to speak up in such a volatile situation, but the silence is truly concerning. I can't imagine how devastating it is for Christopher's family to not have the closure that comes with knowing who is responsible for this senseless act. The community’s reluctance to share details is puzzling, and I can’t help but wonder if fear or mistrust in the system is at play. This incident speaks volumes about the challenges in community-police relations and the need for a bridge of trust to ensure that witnesses feel safe to share what they know. My thoughts are with Christopher’s family and everyone affected. I truly hope that someone finds the courage to step forward with information.
