Hey all, I've been digging through some old newspaper archives, and something caught my attention regarding Nancy Leichner and Pamela Nater. There's mention that the Aquaholics club often hosted gatherings at different locations, but that particular day at Alexander Springs was a lot more crowded than usual due to some local event. I wonder if anyone else who was there that day recalled seeing anything unusual besides the club members? Maybe someone from another group saw those two leaving or noticed anything strange before they went missing? With as much chaos as a crowded park can bring, you'd think there might be a chance someone outside their immediate group noticed something odd, even if it didn’t seem relevant at the time. I’d be interested to know if there were any sightings that weren’t initially reported or maybe overlooked in the larger scope of the investigation. ?
Has anyone looked into the kind of group outings the Aquaholics typically had in the 60s? I'm curious about their usual practices or safety procedures, if any, during these outdoor events. It's puzzling that Leichner and Nater wandered off alone along the nature trail, leaving all their belongings behind, which seems a bit odd in our hindsight-rich age. Does anyone know if group members were in the habit of splitting up, or was there something unusual about that particular outing? Just thinking about different scenarios since the environment would’ve been quite remote and maybe a bit intimidating. Also, wonder if anyone from the group ever came forward with more insights over the years.
