Hey everyone,
I was looking into James Gemes' case and couldn't help but think about how tough this must be for his friends and family, especially given the challenges that Detroit has faced with violent crime. It seems like his case is symptomatic of a larger issue where so many cases remain unresolved, despite the good work being done by initiatives like the Cold Case Unit.
One thing that caught my attention is the role of public outreach and the cold case webpage that was set up a few years back. It’s commendable that the community is getting involved to help provide tips and leads, but it’s disheartening that so many families, like James', are still waiting for answers. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be.
Does anyone know if there have been any recent updates or breakthroughs in using new forensic technologies for cases from that time period? It would be such a relief to know that some progress is being made to bring justice to James and others whose stories have been left hanging. Thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected.
