Does anyone else find the hotel call claim from the husband to be really odd? Elinor said she was in Boston, but the police couldn’t confirm it. Seems strange that she’d randomly be in a hotel without anyone verifying her presence. I feel like this whole phone call situation adds more questions than answers. Did she really make that call herself, or could someone have been pretending to be her? Considering the missing car at St. John's Hospital with keys in the ignition and her purse left behind, something feels off here. Why would she leave important stuff behind if she really planned to check into a hotel? Maybe there's more to this story regarding her last movements than we know. What do you guys think?
Has anyone looked deeper into the car accident settlement Elinor received? It's strange to me that she got a $3,500 payout, which was a significant amount of money back then, and then disappeared so soon afterwards. The fact that she left a chunk of cash at home suggests she wasn’t planning on leaving for long, or didn't have time to take it with her. Could someone have known about her settlement and targeted her for it? It's worth considering if there might be any shady characters involved in the aftermath of her car accident. Maybe someone involved in the case is holding back information? It just seems odd that she would buy a new car and not take the money if she was planning to disappear on her own. Thoughts?
