Has anyone else been following the developments in the Derrick Anthony Bryant case? I still can't wrap my head around the fact that two teenagers, Anthony Horne and Shyheem Smith, were involved in something so violent and tragic. It’s heartbreaking enough that Derrick lost his life, but it really makes me think about how those teens' lives are changed forever, too. Just a senseless and tragic situation all around. Does anyone know if there have been any community rallies or support groups formed in Rocky Mount in response to this tragedy? It seems like there might be a real need for outreach to both prevent this kind of violence and help the community heal. My thoughts are with Derrick's family and friends, and all those affected by this.
