I was thinking about the funeral for Rosendo Montiel Jr., and it breaks my heart to imagine what his family went through that day. Holding a graveside service must have been incredibly tough, especially considering they had already endured so much loss. I can't help but admire the strength of Rosendo's grandmother, Sherrie Morado. Raising him after Rebeca Dawn Terrell lost her battle with cancer must have been a tremendous responsibility. To lose Rosendo in such a tragic way is just unimaginable. It's comforting to know that the Henderson community came together to support them during that time. I sincerely hope they continue to receive the love and support they need to cope with this tragedy. ?

I’ve been thinking a lot about Rosendo's passion for basketball lately. It's just so incredibly sad to think about someone so young and full of life being taken away. He had so much potential, maybe even dreams of going pro someday. I was reading some tributes from his friends, and they all spoke about how Rosendo was always up for a game, how he had this amazing jump shot that would often surprise everyone. It’s just devastating that we’ll never see where his talent could have taken him. My heart really goes out to his grandmother and family. They’ve been through so much already, it’s just unimaginable the pain they must be feeling. It's hard to come to terms with how quickly life can change, and it makes me think about how important it is to treasure every single moment. If anyone from Rosendo's family reads this, please know that there are many of us who are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
