I’ve been following Stephen Eley’s case and one question really stands out to me: what led Garrett to make that fateful decision? It’s troubling to think about what was going on behind closed doors that might have prompted such an extreme action. Garrett mentioned ongoing threats, but it’s difficult to comprehend how things escalated to such a tragic point. I really feel for Patricia and Robert—losing their son and nephew while also facing the actions of their grandson must be an unimaginable burden. I hope they’re finding support in this unfathomable time. Understanding the background of these family conflicts might provide some answers, but it's so deeply saddening to think of the loss and pain left in the wake of this tragedy.

I've been following the Eley case closely, and it's just such a heavy story to process. Something that stood out to me recently was how Garrett mentioned those ongoing death threats and conflicts during his 911 call. It makes me wonder about the tension that must have been building within the family. It’s hard to imagine how nobody outside of them seemed aware of what was brewing. Were there really no signs? Sometimes, things happen behind closed doors that others can't even imagine, and it's just so sad that it reached this point. I’m thinking of Stephen, Brian, and all their loved ones who must be grappling with so many unanswered questions and such profound loss. Keeping them all in my thoughts.

Does anyone else get chills when they think about the 911 call Garrett Eley made? It’s so surreal and disturbing to imagine what must have gone through his mind during that moment. The fact that he was calm enough to make the call and confess, while admitting to locking up his grandparents, suggests there was some premeditation, which is just haunting. I can't begin to fathom how Patricia and Robert Barker are coping after being held hostage by their own grandson, only to find out they've lost a son and another family member. It's just a devastating situation all around. My heart truly goes out to them and the entire family.
