Has anyone else been following the cold case resources being used in Detroit lately? I recently learned about the tragic death of Mamoudou Bah and was deeply saddened to hear that his case, like so many others in the city, remains unsolved. It’s especially tough to see families left without answers for years. What really caught my attention is how the Detroit Police Department's Cold Case Unit is trying to tackle these cases with newer forensic techniques. I think the implementation of DNA analysis could be a game-changer, not just for Mamoudou’s case but for many others as well. It gives me some hope that maybe one day we’ll see some progress. That said, it’s frustrating how a lack of resources is holding back advancements. If there was more funding and manpower, I really believe we could see a huge difference. I’m curious if anyone knows how community members and law enforcement can push harder for more support, or if there are any local groups working towards this goal? Mamoudou’s family and others affected by similar tragedies deserve closure, and I hope by keeping these stories alive, we can help make justice attainable for them.
