I've been looking into Derek Washington's case, and something that stands out to me is how long it took to find his remains. Almost two years passed before Derek was discovered in that vacant area. It makes me wonder about the efforts that went into searching for him during that time. Did local authorities conduct thorough searches, or was this a location that just slipped through the cracks? It must have been so difficult for his family knowing he was out there somewhere, and I truly hope they find the answers they're seeking. Has anyone come across information on search efforts back then, or why it took as long as it did? Feeling for everyone who knew and cared for Derek.
