It's been over a year now, and I still find myself thinking about Julie Camacho Smith and Desmond Miles Brewington every so often. It's so hard to wrap my head around how something so tragic could happen in what I always thought was a safe neighborhood. I knew Julie from school events when my kids were younger, and she was always so kind and full of life. It's just devastating that she and her son were taken so brutally. I remember a discussion a few weeks back about the timeline and how crucial it is. Does anyone know if the police ever clarified what time exactly might have been the window for when the tragedy struck? Rodney McCrary's arrest was such a shock, but without understanding why he did it or how everything happened, it's hard to find peace. I just hope the trial gives us some answers. Julie and Desmond deserve justice, and their families deserve closure.

It's truly difficult to process the tragic events surrounding the lives of Julie Camacho Smith and her son, Desmond. I did not know them personally, but from what I've read, they were respected members of the Hope Mills community. What's been really perplexing to me is the nature of the charges against Rodney McCrary, especially the inclusion of first-degree kidnapping. It makes me wonder about what the investigation has uncovered in terms of how they were taken and the time leading up to the shootings. My heart goes out to their family and friends as they navigate this unimaginable time, and I hope that the forthcoming legal proceedings will shed some light on the questions that still linger. If anyone knows anything that could assist the investigation, your voice might make a difference.

I’ve been following the tragic case of Julie Camacho Smith and her son Desmond, and my heart aches for their family and friends. Something that's been bothering me is the location where they were found. I’m trying to understand why they were behind the apartment building on Hackberry Drive. Did they live there, or were they visiting someone that day? I can't shake the feeling that understanding their presence there could be a crucial piece of the puzzle. It's hard to imagine such a senseless act happening anywhere, let alone in a place that might have been familiar to them. Anyone else have thoughts on this? Maybe someone with ties to the area could shed some light. My thoughts are with everyone who knew them during this difficult time.
