Growing up in Charlotte, it's hard not to feel a deep sense of loss for John Daniel Morales and his family. As we keep hearing updates about the case, I can't help but think about the impact something like this has on the young people in our community. It's tough enough being a teenager without the added pressure of feeling unsafe. The fact that the suspects are also so young just makes the entire situation even more tragic. These are just kids who should be worrying about school and friends, not involved in deadly altercations.
