I was reading up on the Bernard Allen case, and it really got me thinking about how many cases like his just slip through the cracks. It’s incredibly frustrating that in 2016, Detroit had such a high homicide rate, and yet so many of these cases didn’t get the attention they deserved. Bernard Allen, just another name in the list, did not deserve to become a statistic. It’s disheartening that resource challenges seem to be a constant battle for law enforcement. I can't imagine how tough it must be for Bernard’s family and friends to deal with this lack of closure. Has anyone heard whether there have been any developments in terms of policy or resources that might bring justice to cases like Bernard's? Every victim's story deserves to be heard and investigated thoroughly. My heart really goes out to his loved ones during such a challenging time.
