I've been following the case of Lambert Wilson's tragic passing, and can't stop thinking about the community impact of losing someone with such a profound educational legacy. It's always hard to comprehend how a violent encounter could take someone who dedicated so many decades to nurturing others. Besides being a former principal and a long-serving Board of Education member, he was a mentor to numerous educators and students in Swain County. This loss is enormous, not just for his family, but for everyone who benefited from his wisdom and kindness. I just hope the ongoing investigation sheds light on what actually transpired that night. Anyone else local or with connections feel the same void in the community?
