Hey everyone, I keep thinking about the way communities are impacted when a bright young soul like Xzavion Lawton is taken too soon. It's hard to process the thought of someone just out enjoying Halloween and that ending in such a tragic way. I saw that Lawton’s family is calling for an end to the violence and it got me wondering about what can we do as community members to support this call? It feels crucial that we not only mourn but also galvanize into action to prevent further violence. Has anyone here participated in local initiatives or discussions that aim to tackle gun violence? Would love to hear how others are working within their communities to bring about change. Sending strength and heartfelt condolences to Xzavion’s family and friends during this unimaginably tough time.

I was thinking about Xzavion Lawton and felt compelled to share my thoughts here. It’s truly devastating to see such a promising life taken away so suddenly. I can’t help but be struck by the impact this has had on his family and friends. From what I’ve read, "Boonchie" was clearly loved by so many, and his vibrant spirit touched a lot of hearts. It’s these senseless acts of violence that leave communities struggling to find peace—my heart goes out to everyone affected. I also find myself thinking about how this affects his peers at Millbrook High School. Losing a friend and classmate in such a manner must be deeply unsettling. I hope that amidst their grief, they're able to find some form of support and solace. Times like these remind us about the importance of reaching out and checking in on one another. For those of you based in Raleigh or with loved ones there, how has the community been responding? Are there any local initiatives or gatherings planned to honor Xzavion’s memory and to promote peace and healing?

I'm feeling deeply for Xzavion's family and community right now. It's just so difficult to process how a night of fun and community like Halloween could turn into such a nightmare. I came across a comment by his grandmother, Consuela Perry, who shared how Xzavion, or "Boonchie," was a bundle of joy and touched everyone around him with his incredible spirit. It’s moments like these that remind us how senseless violence can rip away the dreams of young ones who deserve so much more. It’s overwhelmingly sad to consider what his friends and family are going through right now. I’m also moved by the strength of the family urging for change. It's so important that their calls for peace echo across the community. We need to support these families and come together to ensure other kids don’t meet a similar fate. If anyone has more information, please think about coming forward. We owe it to Xzavion to come together and push back against this cycle of violence.
