I've been going down the rabbit hole reading about Gary Lansaw and Ronald Gilbert, and something that really baffles me is how their car ended up abandoned on U.S. 41. From what I've gathered, it was found south of Terre Haute, but there's little information on what condition it was in when discovered. Was it simply parked, or was there evidence suggesting it broke down or was staged? It's unsettling to think that Jerome and Herbert Board might've known exactly what happened on that stretch of road, yet there's practically no physical evidence to connect them directly to the disappearance. It seems odd that despite being in the spotlight back in 2000, nothing new has surfaced about that car since. ? Has anyone come across more detailed info or theories on how it ended up there, and why investigators couldn't gather more clues from it?
I recently stumbled across the case of Gary Lansaw and Ronald Gilbert from Terre Haute, and there’s something intriguing about the timeline that doesn't quite add up for me. The car was found abandoned relatively quickly after their last sighting, yet there's no trace of the men themselves. It makes me wonder how such an elaborate cover-up regarding their disappearance could have been set up so fast without more people knowing about it or slipping up over the years. Is it possible the Board brothers or an accomplice had some prior experience in making evidence disappear? I'm curious if there are any locals from that era who remember hearing rumors or whispers about what really happened. This unsolved case feels like there's more beneath the surface, especially considering the quick move to declare them legally dead with such scarce evidence. Anyone else have thoughts on this or any insights from living in the area during the '80s?
Has anyone else looked into the background of Jerome Board's known associates around the time of the disappearance? It’s chilling to think that someone might have known more or could have been involved but slipped through the cracks. The fact that there were no bodies found makes me wonder if more people could have been involved in disposing of them. Given the drug connections, there were likely quite a few people in that circle who might know a thing or two but stayed quiet out of fear or loyalty. Has anyone come across any rumors or tips that are worth looking into? The legal system might have acquitted the Board brothers, but there could still be loose threads out there. I'm curious if there's a side angle we might have missed, especially after the trial. Any thoughts?
