Hey everyone. I was reading up on Michael McCormick's case from Elmira, NY, and something piqued my interest. There's been talk about how cold the case has gone over the years, but I'm curious about what happened right after he went missing. Were there any reported sightings that police didn't pursue? I find it odd that he left on foot without telling anyone where he was going, and then it's just radio silence. Sometimes, those initial hours and days are so crucial. Does anyone here have insight into what avenues were explored by the investigators back then? It feels like there might be some untapped leads or missed connections, especially in those early days. Thoughts?

I've been following Michael McCormick's case for a while, and one detail that's always puzzled me is why there hasn't been more media attention around it. Given that he vanished without any warning and left no digital trace, you would think this case would have gotten some major coverage over the years. I can't help but wonder if the lack of solid leads contributed to less interest from the media, or if there's more to the story that simply hasn’t been uncovered yet. Anyone else have thoughts on why this case didn't attract more press? It seems like his disappearance just faded into the background, and I'm curious if there are other cases from around that time that also went under the radar.
