Hey everyone, Has anyone else been following the Richard Jenkins case from 2016? It's so difficult to wrap my head around the lack of progress. Knowing that his murder remains unsolved must be incredibly painful for his friends and family. I can't help but wonder about the impact these cold cases have on the loved ones left behind. I read somewhere that Detroit's crime wave during that time really stretched police resources thin, and it's such an uphill battle for them to solve cases without community input or sufficient evidence. It just feels like so many cases, like Richard's, slip through the cracks. I hope that advancements in forensic technology and increased collaboration with the community can eventually bring some answers. If only they could find a way to build more trust with potential witnesses. Keeping all the affected families in my thoughts.

I've been following cold cases in Detroit and recently came across the tragic case of Richard Jenkins. It's tough to see how cases like his get lost amid the sheer number of violent crimes that occurred back in 2016. Detroit was really struggling then, and it seems like the lack of community cooperation made things even more complicated for law enforcement. What's particularly striking to me is how community trust can be such a make-or-break factor in solving these cases. Without it, how do you get witnesses to come forward? It's like this vicious cycle where fear and distrust keep justice at bay. I wonder what personal stories there might be from Richard's family or friends. Did he have a close-knit group that could offer more insights into who he was and what might have led to this tragic outcome? My heart goes out to his loved ones. I hope that with ongoing efforts from the cold case unit and community groups, there might be more answers soon. These families deserve closure. If anyone here has more information on how these community-based initiatives are working or has heard updates on cases from that period, it would be great to hear about it.
