Has anyone else been thinking about the kids and what they're going through right now? Derrick "Slim" Reed left behind so many children who are now growing up without their father. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain and confusion they must be feeling. I'm sure the family is doing their best to be there for them, but it’s such a heavy burden. Anyone have insight into how the community is supporting them? Are there local groups or efforts to help provide some kind of stability and comfort for the kids during this tough time? It seems so important that they get the support they need to cope with this loss. If anyone is in Thibodaux or nearby and knows of ways people are helping, please share. It would be great to see how we can all rally around Derrick's family, especially the little ones, and show them they're not alone.
