I've been following Dravin Malveaux-Stevenson's case and it's so devastating to think about what his family is going through. As a senior at Northside High School, he must have been looking forward to so many things - graduation, college, basketball opportunities. A future that was full of promise and potential, all gone in an instant. I can't imagine the pain his teammates must feel every time they step on the court without him. It must be a constant reminder of their friend and player who was taken from them. The community's support for his family during this time has been touching to see, but it makes me wish there was more we could do to prevent these kinds of senseless acts from happening in the first place. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragedy.
