I’ve been reading through some of the threads about the tragedy involving Calvin Ray Jenkins, and I can't stop thinking about that video footage the police obtained. It’s gut-wrenching to consider the terror and chaos of those moments caught on camera. It just goes to show the vital role technology plays in unraveling these kinds of cases. I’m grateful the authorities were able to get that evidence, though it must be a haunting piece of evidence for his family to know exists. I hope that with all this attention on the video evidence, it acts as a turning point to strengthen community programs and initiatives that focus on crime prevention. It’s so important that we not only talk about justice for Calvin but also work towards ensuring the community can heal and become safer. Sending love to Calvin’s family and everyone keeping his memory alive and pushing for systemic changes.
