What's puzzling to me about the Michael Cisarik case is the timing of his disappearance. He set off from Auckland, and just a few days into his journey, he reported hitting rough weather. For someone with a legal background and presumably a penchant for detail, I wonder if he was prepared for such conditions. I'm curious if anyone knows more about his sailing experience or training with *The Rebel*. Did he maybe underestimate the South Pacific's unpredictability? It's odd that he had enough provisions for six months and didn't send any distress signals, which suggests he might have felt in control—or was confident that he'd overcome the weather challenges he reported. Thoughts on what might have contributed to his overconfidence, if that was the case? Or maybe there's something about the yacht or route that could give us more insight. Any experienced sailors out there who might shed some light on the common issues faced on this particular route?
