I've been following Ashton Butler's case since it was first reported, and it's so frustrating to think about how many families are waiting for justice in Detroit. What stands out to me in this case is the location where his body was found—an abandoned lot. It's horrifying to think that these forgotten spaces in our cities can become dumping grounds for such serious crimes. With Detroit already dealing with such a high volume of unsolved cases, it's a constant reminder of how much work still needs to be done to make our communities safer. I've read that the Cold Case Unit is using new technology to re-examine evidence, which is promising, but it's also a massive undertaking given the thousands of cases. It makes me wonder what more could be done to encourage witnesses to come forward. Ashton's kids and family deserve answers. It shouldn't take years or advanced tech for them to get closure. My heart goes out to all those affected, and I truly hope the community steps forward to help solve these grim mysteries. If anyone has any thoughts on how cooperation could be improved, I'm all ears.
