I was recently reading about Bengt-Olov Sjoestroem's case and can't stop thinking about the personal belongings they found on the beach near Netarts Bay. What kinds of items wash ashore in a situation like this? It must be surreal for the families to see those personal effects, knowing they were once carried by their loved one. I wonder if any of the items offered clues or were just standard things one might take on a trip like that. It's just so unsettling that despite finding these remnants, the main wreckage has never been located. Has anyone seen instances where recovered personal items have led to significant breakthroughs in similar cases?
