I've been following the case regarding Darriel Woods, and something that stands out to me is the timing of the shooting. It happened at 4:20 p.m., broad daylight, which honestly chills me to think someone could be that brazen. For the family, I can't even imagine the shock of having someone taken away so violently in what should be a safe, ordinary setting like walking home from a store. It’s somewhat relieving that Louis Lopez Graves eventually pleaded guilty, but nothing will bring Darriel back to his loved ones. I hope the sentence brings at least a bit of peace to his family. Crimes like this shake the whole community, and my heart goes out to everyone affected.
