I've been following the case of Byron Chris Batiste, and I can't stop thinking about just how much his family must be going through. It's unthinkable to lose a loved one like this, especially in an area that's been facing a surge in violence. I grew up in Baton Rouge, and to witness the escalation of such incidents is truly unsettling. It's terrifying to think that this is becoming the norm in some areas. His case remains unsolved, and I feel like there isn't enough attention on figuring out who did this, and why. If you ask me, this points to something much bigger that needs addressing—there's a whole community out there demanding change. My heart goes out to Batiste's family, and I hope they find some peace knowing that people do care and are rooting for justice to be served.
