Hey everyone, I’ve been following the case of Aleysia Maynor, and I can't stop thinking about the role that eyewitness accounts played in bringing justice. It's haunting to consider what Dararius must have gone through in those final moments to still manage to identify the shooter. Such bravery in such dire circumstances. I can't imagine what their families must be going through, enduring both the trauma of losing loved ones and the stress of the legal proceedings. It’s a sobering reminder of how instrumental eyewitnesses can be, for better or for worse, in the pursuit of justice. It also makes me wish we had more support systems in place for victims and witnesses alike, so they don’t have to battle through the aftermath alone. Sending all my thoughts to those who loved Aleysia and Dararius during this incredibly difficult time. Does anyone else have thoughts on how we, as communities, can better support those directly impacted by these tragedies? Stay safe, everyone.
