I’ve been following Zavion Jackson’s story, and my heart goes out to his family during this incredibly difficult time. One thing that I haven't seen discussed as much is how the relationship between Zavion and Trevion might have played into this tragedy. It’s so hard to comprehend how a dispute can escalate to such violence, especially between friends. It makes me think about how fragile relationships can be and how quickly things can turn deadly. I can’t imagine the pain Zavion's family is going through, not only losing a son but at the hands of someone he once called a friend. It’s a sobering reminder that we need more conflict resolution education for young people and to spot the warning signs of potential violence. The community response has been incredible, and I hope it provides some comfort to Zavion's parents. Just awful to see two lives altered this way.
