It's so appalling to me that he thought he could defend his horrific actions by saying that she was trying to run him over, especially when there was clear video evidence showing otherwise. It makes me think about how many victims of domestic violence might face situations where the abuser spins the story in their favor, somehow hoping to avoid accountability. This case really underscores the need for better systems to support victims and take their truth seriously long before things escalate to such an irreversible point. I hope this verdict at least provides some semblance of justice for Kawana and her loved ones.
