It's truly upsetting to think about how Ha'Shoun Collins' life was cut short over something so incredibly senseless. It seems like he and his friends were just trying to do the right thing by not getting involved with the alleged burglary, and yet it ended in such a tragic way. My heart goes out to his family and friends who have to live with this loss.
What's been bothering me about this case is the age of the suspect—only 17 years old. It makes you wonder what led him down a path where carrying a gun and resorting to violence seemed like an option. The fact that a young life is also on the line is another layer of tragedy here. The suspect will now have to face the consequences of his actions, but it also raises questions about community support systems.
