Hey everyone, I’ve been doing some reading about Devin Walker’s case and something that sticks with me is his involvement in the documentary “Frida Got a Gun.” It’s eerie how someone so invested in change ends up a victim of the same cycle of violence. What stands out to me is how passionate and hopeful Devin was, despite the circumstances around him. It must be incredibly difficult for his family to cope with the loss, knowing how committed he was to making a better future for others like him.
Being part of Big Freedia's documentary was a big deal. I think it says a lot about Devin’s character, that he didn’t just want to survive in his environment, but to transform it for the better. It’s so painful to think that this powerful voice is lost to us now. I hope people in his community can come together to honor his dream by pushing for tangible changes that tackle the root causes of this violence. Sending love and strength to all who knew and loved Devin. ?
Hello everyone,
I've been following the case of Devin Walker, and one thing that stands out to me is how he was such an advocate for change, despite being so young. Devin's involvement in Big Freedia's documentary, "Frida Got a Gun," really highlighted his desire to make a difference in his community. It's incredibly sad to think that he was taken by the very issue he wanted to tackle.
It's chilling to think about how Devin's life serves as a reflection of the struggles faced by so many in New Orleans. The fact that he put himself out there to raise awareness speaks volumes about his character – a kind soul who clearly cared deeply about the people around him. His story is a reminder of how important it is to listen to the voices of the youth who are calling for change. If only more could be done to protect and uplift them.
I really hope the ongoing investigation uncovers more details and brings some semblance of justice. My heart goes out to Devin's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Let's continue to keep the conversation going and push for solutions that honor Devin's memory by working towards the safer world he envisioned.
I can't stop thinking about the tragic loss of Devin Walker. Every time a young life is taken, it feels like a personal loss for the community, but with Devin, it's especially impactful given his participation in Big Freedia's documentary, "Frida Got a Gun." It’s just so painful to see that even someone actively trying to help and bring awareness to community violence was so senselessly taken by it.
Devin clearly wanted to make a difference, and it just breaks my heart that he’s not here to continue that journey. His story really hits home the urgency needed in tackling gun violence, especially in places like New Orleans. How do we create change fast enough so that young lives like Devin's are no longer cut short? Sending love and strength to Devin’s family and everyone who knew and loved him. I really hope justice is served in his case, and lasting change follows.
