Has anyone else come across any details about the jury in Wilfred V. French’s case? It’s really weighing on my mind how they came to acquit the sheriff despite the overwhelming situation. I mean, the fact that French was just doing his job and ended up losing his life is beyond tragic. I read somewhere that juries back then often faced intense pressure, but does anyone know if there were any specific influences or dynamics at play during this trial? I can’t imagine what French’s family must have gone through, seeing the person responsible for his death walking free. It’s just so incredibly unfair. Would love to hear if anyone has more insight into this aspect of the case.
