I've been reading up on the Battle of Barrington and can't shake how daunting it must have been for the agents involved, especially Herman Hollis. Imagine being in such a perilous situation where every second counts. Hollis and Samuel Cowley went into that gunfight knowing they were coming up against Lester "Baby Face" Nelson, a notorious figure who wouldn’t hesitate to shoot. It’s just haunting to think about the bravery it took for Hollis to stand his ground, knowing the risks. The FBI agents like him had such a challenging role trying to rein in crime during those times, and it’s a stark reminder of the sacrifices made in the line of duty. Truly, we owe them gratitude for facing such danger head-on. My thoughts are with Hollis's family, who must have felt a deep loss—they’re part of the fabric that builds our history, too. I would love to hear any thoughts or additional background anyone might have on this case or the lives of those brave agents.
