Does anyone have any information about the memorial service that was held for Sergeant James Schaffer? I recently learned about his tragic death and the sacrifice he made during that horrific standoff. It’s clear that Schaffer and Detective Stubig were true heroes, but I’d love to know how the community and the police department honored their memory back in 1969. Losing someone in the line of duty must have been incredibly hard for their families and colleagues.
