I was reading through some old case files and came across the tragic incident involving Officer Fred Eckles Jr. My thoughts are with his family, especially his five children and two grandchildren, who must have struggled with such a sudden and heavy loss. One thing that caught my attention was the fact that the apartment was owned by an elderly woman who was hospitalized due to a stroke during the raid. It makes me wonder how much she knew about what was happening at her property and if she had any family or friends supporting her during this period. It must have been devastating for her to learn about what unfolded in her own home while she was already recovering from her health issues. Does anyone know more about her story, or what became of her after this tragic event?
